I have worked as a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in the NHS and in the private practice for over 9 years. I am Specialist Associate Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and a member of British Association of Psychopharmacology. I am working currently as a LocumConsultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, with the Neurodevelopment team in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS trust. I am passionate about helping young people and their families deal with the challenges of mental health as well as other complexities that young people are faced with. My specialised training in Systemic Therapy and family dynamics has enabled me to develop a bespoke approach to support parents and families with complex needs. I am ADOS , 3Di and QB trained and I provide assessment and management of difficulties related to ADHD, ASD, , OCD , Anxiety and Depression and Behavioural and Emotional Difficulties. I am aware of how important it is to provide a safe and encouraging space for my patients and their families. I believe in having a non-judgmental and empathetic approach to create a therapeutic relationship that will enable my young patients to feel comfortable, listen to and help them to move forward and thrive.

Dr Adelais Mills, PhD
UKCP trainee Psychoanalytic Therapist
I offer psychotherapy and psychoanalysis for adults, adolescents and children. In addition to my private practice, I work with children and adults as an honorary psychotherapist at the Highbury Counselling Centre.
I am a candidate at the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research (CFAR) and a registered trainee with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I abide by the CFAR Code of Ethics and the UKCP Code of Ethics, and I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
Appointments for Adults and Adolescents
I offer a confidential space where you can be listened to with care and sensitivity. The reasons a person may wish to seek therapy can take many forms: a painful loss, a distressing event, or a persistent sense of unease or anxiety related to work, relationships, sexuality, gender, or the body.
Psychoanalysis and psychotherapy are longer term forms of self-exploration that aim to uncover the sources of these difficulties.
Appointments for Children
It can be difficult at times for children to put words to what may be troubling them. I work with each child to create a welcoming, supportive space in which they can express themselves through play, art, and conversation.
My role is to listen closely — to both what is said and what is shown — and to help a child explore what they bring at their own pace.Therapy can be valuable in many situations, from family changes, friendship challenges, and school pressures to anxiety, loss, or distress without a clear cause.
